As a child growing up I got
use to moving about every couple of years. My
father was a regional manager for Combined Insurance
Company of America and he was sent into areas that
needed to bring up their sales. Needless to say I
got use to making new friends quickly and is
probably is why I have an outgoing personality. I
was always trying to be the center of attention
growing up. So it seems to make sense to me why I
enjoyed it so much when I got my first chance to
host a small karaoke show at a local pool hall
called the miss cue. I hosted that show for about
two or three months before the club had to close
down.
I had
a new fire in my blood. Something told me this was
what I was born to do. So I took out a small loan
for $2,500 from my father. I got a small system put
together. I had some 700 songs to choose from. I was
small but it got the job done. I slowly but surely
secured one account after another until I was
working seven days a week. Which was fin with me
because it really didn't seem like work to me.
While
running a show at W.W. Fairfield's one Monday night
I meet Susan Werth. What can I say about Susan, she
was extremely motivate and high spirited. She came
onboard with my company and together we grew in
leaps and bounds. Susan secured an investor for the
company which enabled use to grow from 1 system to 3
systems. The company also grew in staff. I have had
quite a few guys work for my company over the years.
Each one of my guys were eager to host. Each one of
them had a talent and a gift to host.
My
goals with Dallas Karaoke was to become one of the
top company's in Dallas and to try our best to cater
to our customers. Our mission was to be bigger,
better, and stronger. I wanted to give a personal
touch to it. I believe that karaoke shows should put
the customer in the spot light. I also believed that
if I could give that personal touch that it would
come back to me and the company ten fold.
Saturday August 27th, 2005 I was to understand for
that first time just how many friends and loved ones
I had made over the years. I was and have been at a
loss of words for the way everyone has touched my
heart when I walked into Main Street. God has truly
blessed me. I cannot begin to thank you all enough
for your love, your support, and for your
friendship. I do not know yet if Dallas Karaoke is
going to come back yet or not, but I do know that
the spirit of Dallas Karaoke has never left.
